Katie Johnson, B.S.
Katie Johnson’s interest in dyslexia started when her son was diagnosed with dyslexia as a freshman in high school. After years of searching for the answers to why he struggled with certain reading and spelling tasks, dyslexia was pinpointed. His diagnosis led her to begin tutoring him in the Barton Reading and Spelling System, and to learning all she could about dyslexia. After seeing the increased confidence and improved reading and spelling ability in her son, Katie desired to share that hope and improvement with other children. Being a dyslexia tutor is a great joy for Katie and something she finds extremely rewarding.
Katie has always enjoyed working with kids. She is the mom to five great kids, and taught in a Mom’s co-op preschool when they were younger. She has also spent hours volunteering in their schools and leading small reading groups. Katie received her B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University, and is a Certified Barton Tutor and OG Math trained.
In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, scrapbooking, spending time with her wonderful husband and kids hiking and playing games.
