Alisa is a Certified Barton Tutor and Dyslexia Specialist. She graduated from Brigham Young University and received a Post Baccalaureate at ASU in elementary education.
She enjoys being around children and is a former first-grade teacher. She also coached middle and high school cross country and track, and worked with 5th graders as a paraprofessional in the Vail School District.
Alisa loves learning and wants to share that with her students. Being a mom of seven kids has helped her to understand children. When she learned her son had dyslexia, she was able to teach him using the Barton program. Both she and her husband were amazed at the improvement in his reading, spelling, and writing.
She loves working with all ages, from very young, to middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults. She wants to empower her students so that they can envision the fantastic possibilities they have for themselves. Quite often, she will help them set and achieve their goals. She wants to make learning fun for her students. She loves seeing the positive effect their learning has on them.
In her free time, she likes spending time with her family and friends, hiking, playing games, traveling, reading, and seeing beautiful sunsets.
